Electricians: give same-day quotes and get your evenings back
I'm Pete. I run Dorset Rewires. I built a website with an instant quote tool that turns a 45-minute quote into a 5-minute one - done with the customer, on the doorstep. No more quoting on the weekend. I can build you the same, branded as you. Here is how it works.
The problem with quoting
You know the drill. Drive to the job. Walk the rooms. Scribble notes. Drive home. Then, after dinner, turn those notes into a quote, room by room, socket by socket. Price three jobs and the evening is gone.
Worse, the customer waits days for a number. And in this trade, whoever answers first usually wins the work.
What I built
An instant quote tool on my own website. The customer (or me, on the doorstep) picks their rooms, counts the sockets and lights, and ticks a few boxes. The page shows an exact price built from the figures I charge, and I can change those figures in seconds whenever my prices move. No spreadsheet. No driving home to do sums.
When a customer uses it online, the quote lands in my inbox as a lead - and the quoting is already done. My only job is a quick check that it's right at the survey. Quoting cold on a doorstep? I build it with the customer standing there and send it before I leave. A quote that used to take me 45 minutes now takes about 5 - and I've stopped quoting on weekends.
And it is not just for rewires. It prices a single EICR, a new fuseboard or a few sockets just as fast - your rates, your minimum charge, all editable in seconds. Big job or small, the customer gets a real price on the spot.
What it does for you
- Faster replies. A real price in 5 minutes, not a week. More customers stick around.
- More leads. Every quote attempt lands in your inbox, even the ones who would never have phoned.
- You look professional. A clean quote tool says "this one is organised" before you turn up.
- Your evenings back. The tool does the donkey work.
The honest bit: it will not win you every job. But it wins more of them, faster, with less of your time.
The quote does its own paperwork
Every quote goes out as a smart pack, built automatically:
- The itemised quote - fixed price, reference number, 30-day validity.
- A "why choose us" page - your guarantee, insurance and live Google reviews, pulled in automatically. Every price arrives with the trust case attached.
- The legal Right to Cancel notice. Here is the one most of us get wrong: quote in a customer's home and take the booking without a written 14-day cancellation notice, and they can cancel up to 12 months later and legally refuse to pay for work you have done. Missing the notice is a criminal offence. This pack appends the notice and the model cancellation form to every quote, automatically. You cannot forget it.
Don't take my word for it. See a real quote pack (PDF) - a made-up job, but exactly what every customer receives.
Want this on your own site?
I built it for Dorset Rewires, but it is no secret. It is a website with a quote calculator wired in, branded as you: your prices, your logo, the instant quote tool, plus a tool to chase Google reviews.
Two ways to get it:
1. Link to me from your site and I set it up free. A small backlink, a big favour both ways.
2. Or a small one-off fee if you would rather not link.
Same-day quotes. Evenings back. Let's go.
